Norco has recently switched over to Bosch for a light eBike.

Maybe everyone already knows this.
I was talking to a Norco engineer yesterday but I was mesmerized by his new wheels.

He’s not a eMTB’er though.

A little birdy told me that all the eeebs will be Bosch now.
Live to Play Sports is the Bosch distributer. Makes sense.
I actually like that wheel set.

Those spokes were white a few days ago. I can’t imagine lacing up those wheels. 3 days to tension the strings. The front wheel was so friggen light and I had to be careful cause the dye was still drying when I lifted it…almost hit myself in the chin. I wasn’t expecting how light it was. 😉

WeAreOne Convergence wheel build with Berd Spokes and Onyx hubs, very nice setup. The mechanic at our shop just did a similar build but used I9 Hydra hubs. It's crazy how this wheels feel with the Berd spokes.

So is the SX going to be a smaller, lighter motor?

Maybe the rumour I heard that Whyte are bringing out a lightweight bike next year (so probably about 22kg 😄) is true then... 🤔

The top linkage changes back to a rocker arm design…. not showing the lower pivot linkage as yet….. C’on Norco bring it on a high linkage pivot design for the VLT’s….

Apparently the Berd spokes have an oval profile once they are tensioned (maybe the owner was having fun with me🤷‍♂️). Regardless, I have a difficult enough time with steel spokes.…but a ball of spaghetti spokes 🤯.

Berd spokes

Spokes are so last year ! Especially on e-bikes. Don't you find people look at you and go "ooh, weird, he's still got a bike with spokes ? They're so 1821, I'm surprised he's not still running square wheels"

The weirdest thing with this bike (ok, maybe not the weirdest thing....) but everything about it is "futuristic" yet the cables run though the frame and not the headset ! Maybe that is the future ! :)

The bike really deserves it's own thread rather than hijacking the Norco Bosch SL thread.

Anyway using tension isn't new. The 91/92 Slingshot would have been a lot cooler if they'd used a polycotton thread which you moisened to change the frame kinematics ...

I used to ride SlingShots bitd. They actually didn't ride that bad pre suspension times. Several friends raced them professionally and did rather well also. I certainly don't long for those days however but they were fun while they lasted.

One of mine ended up in a collection over there in the EU, it had a red/white/blue band paintjob on it and was an earlier version.

Good to see Norco ditching Shimano motors along with Canyon & Commencal. Who's next?
It does seem like most companies are ditching Shimano.
Its to bad I own one and my 2 year warranty is almost up.
Got one motor replaced at 2400 km. We will see what happens.
