What dropper post

I’m in need of a new dropper post
I’ve got the reverb stealth and it’s soon going to be set about with a sledge hammer as it’s just problem after problem.
What’s your thoughts on other brand droppers and which brand seems the most reliable one

Have to say I have been vey impressed with the Brand X dropper from CRC - Been faultless on my Vitus, and I have had it paired top at various times with a Wolf Tooth dropper lever, PNW loam lever, and One Up lever. Hard to beat at he price.

I have just fitted the Revive post and very happy. Has operated smoothly throughout so far. Got it from TF Tuned.

Fox transfer gives the least issues with repairs.

Fox transfer is the most trouble free post I've had, from the 3x droppers I've ran (cp, reverb) 2yrs now without fault. I like the audible clonk up and down. Sucker for kashima. One thing I don't like is the significant side to side movement.

Command post went back 4x in the first year

X fusion Manic or Bike Yoke Revive would be my choice for reliable. I had a OneUp that already went bad. Slow return speed. As others have said, the Wolftooth lever is the bees knees

I have used KS droppers for years and tried a Brand X last year for the first time and can highly recommend them if you are tight on budget. Very good value and no issues so far after a year of abuse in wet, muddy Wales.

I've had my Thomson dropper and so far seams OK. After falling off there is a little side to side movement and the grub screw on the lever is made of cheese. Quite why they feel the need to save 0.005 pence on a vital part of a £300 post is beyond me. Either that or its some imperial size head with a m4 thread.

I have had a KS post and four Reverbs of various editions (stealth and non stealth). They mostly failed either just before the two years (lucky me), or just after and were beyond economic repair.
The KS post was replaced under warranty and was still going strong 3 years later when I sold the bike and as far as I know it still works. One Reverb failed after a few months and was replaced only to fail just after the 2 year warranty period expired. Its replacement lasted just under two years before I sold the bike, it then failed several months later out of warranty. I've lost track of a few others, but one I have is on the Whyte T130 and it failed one week outside warranty expiry, but Dale at Sherwood Pines bike shop repaired it for less than £60, overnight and with zero postage charges. (Let's hear it for Dale! ).

Overall, not an inspiring longevity record, but I would not be without one!

My latest bike has a KS dropper and I look forward to seeing how long it will last.

I stacked it today, bike flipped over and noticed the saddle had come a bit loose in the crash, however the Brand X dropper all good once I had tightened everything back up

I suppose if we don’t crash we aren’t pushing hard enough comes with the territory of MTBing. Trouble is I’ve found I don’t bounce as gracefully as I did when I was younger and my balls seem to be strinking yearly ? but it’s all good I keep trying ??

You won't be disappointed. You can't really go wrong with them. Especially at £100
I have 3. (a 120mm, 150 & 170) They're not without problems. One wore the keys pretty quickly meaning loads of rotational/fore-aft play, another developed sag in the cartridge. CRC replaced/refunded both after one Email. They're all warrantied for 2 years which the way I ride/crash and the shear amount of use they get no dropper is likely to last without issue.
New keys/bushing kits are available aftermarket for about £12 posted and they're piss easy to replace at home with no specialist tools.
The new style lever is sweet too.

I’ve got a brand new brand x dropper to sell , never used Removed from a new bike . 31.6 dia 125 drop
it was Swapped for a 150 drop . Personally I have found all our reverbs to be the most reliable of all . Not a fan of any cable posts .

Glad to hear that you survived OK.

But remember, a crash is only a crash if your feet go higher than your head!
Otherwise it is an involuntary dismount!

Well the bike was above my head and as much as I would like to claim I was trying to flip the bike, its was definitely a case of it flipping me

The one I am am currently using on both bikes, is the One Up lever mounted with MMX adapter, although I am running the E700 controller now so might try the loam lever again.

How's the loam better ?
I looked at that but had it in my head I needed the light wolftooth.
