I’m currently running a pair of these which are great but lack grip when getting up for a pee. Swapped out the insoles before I’d even put them on as I much prefer gel to foam. Was looking for something slacker too which might be great for fridge runs but not so good when climbing the stairs to Bedfordshire. How many miles do you get from yours?

I prefer the slightly lower cut of the ones I have posted below. The design allows for the heels down method that allows for a quick getaway, but also, after an easy flip-up conversion, a more secure heels up method for safer climbing and descending.

What I also like about them is the "engineered sole". Not quite sure what it does, but if it has been designed by an actual engineer then I'm all for it! As you will see, the sole is also sticky, judging by the amount of crumbs and other detritus that it has picked up.

I can wholly recommend these winners from everyone's favourite supplier, that UK standard "Marks & Spencer!
However, there are supply problems with these beauties, they only seem to be available just before Xmas.

They do an e-version too!
But I'm sure many would call that cheating.

I’ve been rocking the classic moccasin’s for many years now, don’t really want to change to another style when this tried & tested design works so well

The thermowarmth lining adds a nice technical ability to keep the feet warm in winter but also cool in the summer months, making these suitable for all seasons

The super flat sole has been specifically developed by Marks & Spencer’s R&D department to provide instant non-slip grip to multiple surfaces

Highly recommend

Ooooh .. the old slipper debate ....

For some, choice will be more about fashion and making a statement rather than performance :

@Rob Rides EMTB for instance would have something purple with a fade, though would probably add some 38mm toe protectors.

@Beekeeper would probably stick to his usual themes :

@BAMBAMODA , well , it's always about one thing with bambam ..

bambam.jpg

@The EMF , likes flopping randomly into puddles, so would probably slipper up accordingly to be prepared.

I think I'd have to go full suspension, you just never know ..

Though the temptation for many members would be to goto e-slippers :

Others will be drawn to rigidity and performance, especially if support and speed are important for getting to the bathroom :

Others will just go with what they prefer for everything ..

I actually upgraded to Crocs for indoor leisure wear over the last year, grippy, ventilated, can be wiped down and can be put to emergency outdoor use. Also good for when you've kicked off the five tens. The look disgusting, and my wife keeps threatining to divorce me if she sees me wearing them, but best indoor shoes my feet have ever graced, so looks like the slippers have been retired.

When I get a new pair, the old pair become the outdoor slippers. Really handy for nipping out to the garage.
And of course I get twice the life from them!

Never smell! How did you manage that? Is it the fabric, some sort of mental control, or do you suffer from anosmia?

I don’t want to walk all over this thread but the Canadian Mukluk is very comfortable indoors or out. No need to go for a pee in the middle of the night because these will hold at least a gallon of liquid.
These ones are government issued. I’m not sure if I’ll upgrade and pay for the eSlipper because moccasins are free in Canada ??.

Here we have a typical Levo owner, fortunately his S(lipper)-Works indoor footwear has an excellent warranty that, for reasons not at all linked to the number of sole failures, has just been increased to 4 years.

Carpet? Frk that.

Bare feet on tiles- nice and cool on these stinking hot days , plus a LOT easier to clean up the evidence when it's too hot in the shed.

Now, can anyone suggest a nice sunscreen for another big day at the beach?

My feet can get too hot in my toasty slippers. Sometimes so hot that it'll cause hot air to billow under my kilt. In extreme cases my balls can get so hot I need to head out for a relaxing bounce about on the trampoline to cool down.

Jeez Louise looks like nobody on this forum has peripheral neuropathy or Morton's neuroma like me. Got to have a metatarsal arch built into the sole of the slipper if you have these conditions to spread the distal metatarsal bones and take pressure off the nerves. The only ones mentioned so far that have these are the Birkenstocks, but I prefer the Adidas Addilette slides and I add socks during the winter if needed but that's rare now in Hawaii with global warming. They are the most comfortable footwear I have ever worn, bar none. Last forever:
