Atera Strada DL2, one bike is fine, with 2 it’s a tight fit.

Next year I’m changing my car, I currently use a Thule clip on my 1 series but looking to get an estate with a tow bar mount, most likely stay with Thule as it’s a well respected brand.

what’s everyone’s favourite tow bar mounted Thule.

I use Thule EasyFold XT 2 with long straps when I want to go biking alone [wife mode: OFF].
Sadly this bike rack fits only one Levo ebike.

However, if I need to take two Levo ebikes [wife mode: ON], I use another bike rack: Inter Pack Spider 2E.

Here's the comparison of those two bike racks:

My Levo is still on its way, but this is how I plan to transport it. It's the 1up but with their optional reverse plate. Normally the rack is pushed up, but with my really tall truck, I wanted a rack that is low profile. Tilted up it's hard to even see it there. I've had 5 different racks and this one is by far the best I've had.

Oddly most people think it is a dirt bike rack.

I use an Atera Genio Pro, it takes two bikes up to 30KG each and can be expanded to hold a third bike if you wish to. I think you can get a loading ramp for it to, although I just lift my bike up.
I went for this rack as it folds up nicely for storage, very similar to the Thule Easyfold XT.
It also has a much better designed clamping arrangement for going around the large downtubes in e-bike.
You can also drop the rack to open the boot of your car, even with the bikes attached!
I bought mine from Roofbox.co.uk. Very expensive but its the first and last rack I will ever need to buy. Worth every penny.

Have you seen this recall information regarding Atera Genio Pro and checked if your rack is not affected?
https://atera.de/recall_en.html

"Regrettably we have detected a defect with our GENIO PRO rear carrier: We have received isolated complaints about the locking function of the tilting mechanism; in rare cases there is a risk of the carrier tilting during a journey. This malfunction could lead to a change in vehicle handling, and pose a hazard to road safety. Furthermore, the bikes being carried would probably be damaged."
