What a Tool

Check this shit out, bought this onboard tool system to stay on the bike. Nice and neat, out of the way, not floating around in my camelbak and i can't forget to pack it. Covers most stuff including tyre repair, chain etc. Hopefully i don't have to use it much but it will be there when i do.

Can also have a CO2 bottle screwed onto the bottom, but i will keep carrying them in my backpack.

Specilized are also now doing a similar set up to the One Up EDC - it doesn't have quite as much functionality, but you dont need to ream the steerer tube to fit it.

I love my one up headset tool. I've had mine for a few months and it's so nice not having to carry a multitool or remember to pack it. It's expensive but worth it.

You still have to remove the star nut on the Spech and it only takes 5 minutes to thread the steerer for the EDC. And you don't need to remove the whole thing to use the chainbreaker.

Yes but the One Up voids the warranty on your fork - Its a great tool solution but worth remembering that.

Kind of bizarre in that you can cut off the portion that "voids" the warranty and it'll still be in warranty.

G'day mate, i got it from my LBS.

They aren't cheap by any stretch, but i use my backpack's for my motorbikes as well, and have forgot to put the tools back in for the MTB when i go riding. This way it is there all the time. I also carry(now) a spare valve as i snapped one off not long ago with a stick going through the spokes and had to walk about 6-7klms out of the bush to fix it.

In Oz, by law, it could only void your warranty if the tapping of the headset was the cause of the failure. So if something else happened, like a lower leg failure, you're still covered. If the head tube cracked where you tapped it then you're on your own. I know this varies in some countries but here, warranties are statutory not manufacturer defined. A manufacturer may choose to go beyond the statutory warranty but can't lessen it, even in cases where they try to get you to sign statutory warranty away. So things like third party batteries in cameras, accessories for your bike or car, can not void a warranty. Even the time period of a warranty is arguable as the statute says "a reasonable amount of time".

It's a good system which, unfortunately, I've had to test a few times. Most of the big manufacturers are good though. I've had products from Apple, Sony and others fixed for free well outside the manufacturers warranty with no hassles. I've had to take HP to Fair Trading twice.

Yup I would be very surprised if a fork wasn't warrantied because it had an EDC in it

There great but I suggest you carry a proper chainlink tool as the One_up chain tool breaks extremely easily.
