Loved this bike until recently when the motor noise became much louder after several pedal strikes. Became so loud I ordered a replacement motor under crash replacement for $500 to avoid getting stuck out in the middle of nowhere pushing a dead bike. Only have had new motor for a month and had a weird slow motion crash that killed it a few days ago. Had a bent derailer hanger and put the tool on to straighten it. Was test riding it and looking down at the rear cassette because it was not quite shifting properly, not quite straight, when left handlebar clipped the "stop" signpost while moving 2-3 mph. Dumb, I know! This spun the front wheel around and tossed me to the ground on the right side of the bike. Didn't think much of it. No injuries. Pick the bike up and it looked fine. Went to ride and it rides like a fixie now. When you stop peddling the motor keeps running on and will not free wheel. Had to order another new motor. This replacement motor has the two-year warranty so I will just have to pay for installation. The strikes me as very fragile. Very technical trails where I live so get offs are common experience and bike has done fine with these. Anybody else experiencec this particular type of damage?
