Hello everyone I'm about to pull the trigger on a MTB jacket but stuck in a mental hurdle need help.
Now, my options are down to 2 jackets: Leatt 5.0 HydraDri and Endura MT500 Waterproof II.
I have recently ordered the Least jacket size M but it didn't fit so sent it back. Really liked the construction And overall quality but I'm very interested in the Endura also. What I need most is breathability and ventilation waterproofing isn't that big of deal for me.
Let me know your feelings about the 2 jackets. Cheers!

Regularly sharing a washing machine with riding buddies on trips away, I’ve concluded that it doesn’t matter which is better, the most important thing is picking your brand and sticking to it because it makes sorting the laundry much easier

I have Endura GV500:Endura UK best "waterproof" jacket I have owned. It'sd not 100% waterproof, at least anymore after many washes (should meaybe DWR coat it...) and it could be couple of centimeter longer from front but the otherwise the cut is perfect for me, it's light and breathable enough because I mainly use it in colder rainy weathers anyway. For not so rainy but colder days I just bought Gore Lupra, this one have perfect cut, just adding those missing cm's on front :) Ps. Both bought from discount, I think around 130€-140€ is max to pay for mtb jacket :p

So I pulled the trigger! Purchased the MT500 on sale for €130. Got the dark forest green color cuz it was super discounted and the last one in a Large. (The black one was 254€) I hope I don't crash and knock myself unconscious, they'll never find me in the woods 🤣🤣🤣 (camo helmet, gloves and dark green jacket!!) gonna put some Recco reflectors😅
As soon as I get the jacket I'll post my first impressions of fit since I'm between sizes maybe it could help someone else. Cheers.

There's rain and there’s rain . Problem with gortex is it's only good for x amount of washes. Some swear by reproofing never tried it personally. If you get covered in mud you need to wash it quite a lot. I'm waiting to try out MT 500 trousers I got 3 weeks ago but it's been toooo dry.

Here's a good deal now if you look around
I bought this jacket this time last year
It was marked down in the sales then I payed £100.00
At the time reviews were pretty good only thing is you need to size up one from your normal fitting
Does what it's meant to do

That’s a really decent jacket for the money, but way too sweaty to ride in.

I have a Leatt 5.0 HydraDri and it is very nice. Keeps me dry no matter how hard its raining. Very comfortable on the bike. Also air vents if you get hot. I can't speak on the Endura. I'm sure it's nice too.

You may be confused about gore Tex. If you read the washing instructions you'll learn that the more you wash it the more the micro pores will remain clean thus breathable and waterproof. It's a membrane not a DWR treatment. I agree that mud is terrible for any kind of apparel.

When you have a new goretex jacket the water runs off it but this doesn't last I find. Used to say they were good for about 7 washes. I still have every one I bought 5 first was 1986 none are as good as when they were new they get saturated. My friends swear by Paramo but they would get too dirty cycling.

Páramo clothing, never herd of till now. I will be reaching it soon. Gore tex get clammy if you get to hot. 👍🏻
