Hi all eBiker’s, Newbie here, after hiring for a while have bought myself a 2022 Levo.

Early days for me, keen to learn how to maintain it and keep it alive with others wisdom.

Seems water is the problem?

Welcome
Water is the problem with most motors to be honest
No high pressure washing and no submerging the motor is a good start
Apart from that there's not lots you can do apart from ride it

I recommend having a look into your motors manual.

Bosch for example says: remove the battery, cover the contacts. Now you can wash your bike. I don´t use high pressure. Just a regular garden hose. Never had any issue.

Don’t use soapy water when washing the bike. Soap brakes down water surface tension and the water seals on the motor and pivot point bearings are designed around using it to keep water out……

I don't even use a hosepipe. I use a watering can to wet the bike and also to rinse it off. A large bucket of hot water with a cheap car wash shampoo instead of soap plus various brushes to clean it. If required, I use some Hope Sh1tshifter (a brake friendly degreaser) on the oily bits. Been doing this since my first emtb in Jan'19. Never had a single problem.
