Forks should be 148
148psi?

That rockshox set-up recommendation tool isn't actually very accurate at all
set your air pressure by using sag and used travel. (ie. how much travel the bike is using while riding)
There's a sticky at the top of the general emtb section explaining suspension set-up well.
Have a read of that.

I was going to ask about the rear shock also. I have watched the sag video and this seems to be about right now - I just need to have a play with the rebound to see what works best.
The shock also uses tokens, although not as easy to add/remove as the fork, so if you are bottoming out with 30% sag you could add a token, or simply run a bit less than 30% sag, especially if you are into jumping.

The rear shock was the easiest shock I've ever had to dial in, took me a single ride and tweaking to dial in a baseline that I liked. For me personally I had the sag @26 for my local, I hate the rear squirming and with a heavy bike I just assumed it would need to be a bit firmer OOTB.
Dug my shockwiz out for interest and its bang on 100% on my local trail even though I never aim for a high score just what feels right and if it needs tokens.

Rode my Santacruz HTLT at the weekend and loved it, so to those who are worried it will "spoil" normal biking .. well for me it doesn't... it complements it as both bikes ride completely differently.

Finally ditched the stock dropper lever for a spare Wolftooth, so much better. Don't like the design for the cable run and how its zip ties the outer to the shock shroud so may 3D print some ducting/cable loops and zip tie these in place to direct the cable better and allow easier outer cable replacement and no needs to cut/replace cable ties when I do it.

I see that another 2 VR’s have sold on ebay. Both very badly scratched but nothing a strip and powder coat wouldn’t fix. A XL went for £ 2 551 + £ 14.99 shipping while a L went for £ 3 100 + shipping (that’s not much less than I paid for mine with the Wiggle discount). I was considering bidding on the L until it went north of £ 2 500.

Finally got round to tubelessing my sommet on Sunday. Rims weren't taped ready but a with a run of gorilla tape and some soapy water and it seated fine first time with my ghetto inflator.

The tubes that were in we're massive dh things which must be 300g so significant rotational weight saving to be had.

I thought the E-Sommet VR came tubeless ready from the factory, without tubes. Vitus website says nothing about tubes and CRC says:
  • Tubeless Ready: Yes, with tubeless rim tape fitted and valves included

Mines one of least year's but it only had fabric rim tape and there were no valves in the box of bits. Tyres are marked tubeless ready and the rims have a nice shallow bed with a deep bread hook which makes them easy to seat tyres on.

Just for clarity mines a 2018 Deore - I shall be doing the wife's 2018 VR some time shortly and will report back on that but I know there weren't any valves in her box of bits either

I got enough Haribo to start my own sweet shop. They contain beef gelatine, and I don’t eat meat, so every Halloween I give them out.

Sorry for going off topic. Erm... what can I add that’s on topic...

bah, can’t think of anything.

They mean the rim is tubeless taped but tubes installed.. so basically partially installed and you just remove the pre installed tubes, use the "provided" tubeless valves add you own sealant and inflate. Best system imo as for some reason some people don't go tubeless...
Seems a bit of a crap shoot what comes in the box but Wiggle/CRC are accommodating and send missing items no questions asked and hassle free.
People often claim dropper seatposts are the best enhancement to riding but for me it's still tubeless, yes it's more grief in setup and maintenance at home replacing sealant etc but I can count on one hand the number of my own punctures I've had to fix in the last 12+ tubeless years. I've fixed plenty of other randoms at the side of the trail though as no problems helping but amongst my m8s the rule is go tubeless or we all gather round and just watch and make fun of the person replacing a tube... they quickly go tubeless :). The ultra rare tubeless puncture sees everyone helping but I honestly don't recall the last puncture amongst my friends ;)

I received my Vitus about a month ago and have been riding mainly commutes with it. Feels like a very good bike, unfourtunately not much trail riding as the trails are either frozen solid or it is just too cold here in Finland. I have a question regarding the bluetooth connection. My connection wont accept the default pincode 000000 or any other default pincode that i can think of (different amount of zeros, 1234, etc.). I contacted Wiggle about this and have not yet received a definite answer. Anyone here have had the same experience? I read somewhere that i can reset the pincode with the PC interface, is this true? Unfourtunately I don´t have the interface.

Mine was definitely default 000000 (it can be 0000 apparently though?), however during initial connection it prompts to change this passkey so possibly you accidentally set it to something else?. To display your passkey you need to be able to connect to your bike so no help there... ultimately I'd say a bike shop may have the capability to reset it to default.

You could try uninstalling/reinstalling the app then try a different device to connect .. a friends phone or a tablet as perhaps its the device your trying to connect with that's the issue?

Yeah a 170mm Enduro bike is a bit overkill for road riding, you'll also kill your highroller/minion tyres but putting slicks/road tyres on a 170mm travel bike is as far as I'm aware illegal.. if it's not it should be :)

Joking aside it's a great stable bike and all my experienced m8s that have tried it have commented how well it handles, some laughed when they felt the weight.. but they all were stunned by how well it rode both uphill (obviously) but on technical downhill. Comments were mainly superlatives but I think they were expecting it to handle poorly based on the weight. Grip and stability really stand out to me personally.

From memory you have to pair the bike though the app, rather than though the phone settings - bluetooth as you would with other devices. I remember it being a PITA.

Seems to work a lot better on my iPad than it does on phone

DOH!! just remembered you need to disconnect the E7000 switch before you click START as your bikes not updated. The latest update fixes this fault... or was that just the app update I don't recall.. sorry.

Yeah i tried with an ipad and another phone. Tried also to connect from the app and through settings, nothing works. I'm also pretty sure that I didn't change the pin code as I have tested every possible combination of my own pin codes aswell. ;) Just have to wait for a reply from Wiggle.

My maxxis tyres are waiting for summer, i bought Michelin tyres with GUM3D for the winter as they are supposed to be good on snow. Unfourtunately no good snowy trails near where I live, only ice. Should have bought studded tyres.

Edit: Holy shit, it connected. I had changed the pin but there had been a typo. Thanks!

Nothing wrong with fat slicks on this beast, 550 miles on and off road and going strong, this beast will take anything ??(y)

I love how I sat patiently waiting for my e-sommet to come into stock.
It appeared.
I panicked and bought it because I knew they were going to sell out quickly.

They're all in stock and there was definitely no need to do what I did above ??

Unless Wiggle had a promotion on its loyalty percentage: 12% reduction going to 20%.

Maybe they will do it again, who knows.
