Upgrade the 2019 pike from 150mm to 160mm

His guys,
Just booked my 2019 levo expert in for a pike upgrade from 150mm to 160mm. But they say it can’t be done on the new pikes that run 29er wheels. Apparently Sram said no. Any thoughts.

I’ve got the b2 pike forks
The b1 fits no problem
Havnt got a clue why they told me you can’t do this swap
Loads of guys from the site have the swap no worries

I think different internals.

Can't talk to my RS specialist until next week but thinking back to a conversation about this late last year he was finding most of those coming to him for a conversion had not even bothered to have their existing units properly set up and usually after a fitting session they were happy to stay with the original setup.

Was it as easy as You Tube. I ordered the air shaft, air cap remover tool socket thing, shock oil and circlip pliers last week and they have all arrived. I forgot grease and the syringe so have them coming next week. I have not got a torque wrench, will I actually need it, ive gotten by for years with out one and things don't come loose or off (mostly) when I muck about with things that are supposed to be torqued up.

Is there anything I need to watch out for specifically that might be a pain when I get around to this upgrade?

Just be care full when removing and replacing the circlip apart from that it’s a straight forward job
Think it’s 10cc of oil each side
You shouldn’t need the air cap removal socket thingy just a valve core removal tool

Thanks, TBH, I got the tool as I originally just wanted to experiment adding tokens, but then got carried away and ordered the longer shaft. Out of curiosity what grease did you use, was it this Wild Honey stuff on the you tube vid I watched?

My LBS called not only SRAM but another suspension specialist who still say that the B2 160mm shaft for isn’t compatible. Interesting because it’s a suggestion in the RS website. Sram said it’s misleading. BUT as you guys have done it and it’s working then balls to em.

I used the sram butter ?
