Up rating E stance brakes

Hi , my friend wants to upgrade his brakes on his 2019 Estance .it’s currently fitted with Tektros 4 pot front 2 rear at the rear he’s baught Shimano MT520 4 pots reviews say a great price and good performance .what adapter do he need or can the current bracket accommodate the Shimano brake Caliper ? He’s waiting for a more powerful XT 4 pot for the front but if the 510 Shimano perform good he’ ll buy them .Anyone gone this route ?

I think it'll depend on if he's changing the rotor diameter too?

the MT520 with 203mm rotors came standard on my trance, and do a great job dealing with the weight of the bike/rider

Hi, as far as I know, Stance E+ came with SR Suntour XCR 34. Follow SR technical spec, max rotor size is 203mm, so that is the best way to improve brakes. Take BL-MT501 + BR-MT520 and RT66 (or better) rotors and You'll get a best valued brakes on the market.

Hi just as a side note my trance has tektro Orion's I fitted Shimano deore levers as they have the servo wave so brake more for less pull and I have to say there easily as good as my slx or xt brakes cheap as chips keep the Orion caliper fit deore levers ?

Sometime just new pads with proper break-in helps.
Mine do the job just fine.

I agree with 1oldfart I've tried millions of pads best so far are gorilla pads from Kendal cheap aswell but in the summer I'll run trickstuff pads expensive but Dyno test says 18% more power so worth a try hope u get sorted ?

The wife's bike (2020 trance e) has 203 tecktros but I noticed that the pads hung over the edge of the disk so I fitted the caliper adapters for a SRAM 200 disk and that improved it.
