Uneven pad wear

Keen on anyones thoughts please, my rear brakes didn’t feel right on my last ride. Grippy bit rough. I took the pads out (100 miles old) and they appear shiny but not across all the pad. Do they just need sanding and bedding in again? Never had this issue before.

unusual for sure, like its not sitting flush?
could try resetting the caliper?are all 4 pads looking like this? if so a loose caliper/frame mount?

Cheers, I’ll check for any play. All 4 pads similar.

I know theory doesnt come into MTB very often, but the pads should always be completely flat against the disc when they touch, so uneven wear "shouldnt" happen?

If that horizontal wear line is across the braking material at the same height on your inboard and outboard pads your caliper probably isn't spaced properly (incorrect mount) or you're not running the correct rotors. Either way it looks like the pads aren't sat correctly on your rotors brake track.
