Turbo Levo SL Alloy - what’s the point?

Intrigued by the Turbo Levo SL alloy. But does the extra weight of the alloy version defeat the purpose of the SL?

What are the diffrent weights ?

SL alloy - 20.14kg
SL carbon - 17.65kg
Turbo Levo full power alloy comp - 24kg

I have one, weights similar to a carbon kenevo SL.

I don't want/ need a full power e bike so it makes sense to me

Full fat for me……..same with Yoghurt

Turbo Levo SL Comp Carbon	18.55 kg	7.900,00 €
Turbo Levo SL Comp Alloy	20.20 kg	6.600,00 €

Close enough IMO.

Getting close to FF if you factor in a range extender. Which you will probably need if riding with others on FF or Orbea Rise power bikes.
I had a Kenevo SL which was great on my own, but I was always working the hardest when out with my riding buddies.
Now on a Levo and love it.

I have a XL carbon and Lg alloy with carbon wheels. I much prefer the ride of the alloy. It's also quieter.

Also, if your a big lad, the alloy frames have a higher system weight rating

As @michael_bc showed, the weight difference isn't as much as you'd flagged (you can't compare the comp alloy with the S-works carbon!).
But at the end of the day, the Alloy SL exists because it provides a lower entry price into the world of eMTB for Specialized on their SL range. Some people may trade up to the carbon, but for others, the alloy SL will be all they want / need / can justify spending money on.
