Hello, I'm thinking of buying a Specialized Turbo Levo. I'm still not sure if the price difference between the basic Levo and the Comp model is worth it. Do you have any ideas for me?

I bought the 2019 Comp and my mate bought the basic model....2019 versions. Neither of us are boutique type riders....we just ride and maintain. He had to get a dropper post and upgrade the forks so price worked out close to mine plus he had the hassle of getting those parts and fitting them. The derailleur and brakes on the basic are functional but better on the Comp. Go for the Comp.

I think @Swan sums it up perfectly. If you can afford the extra, and you're not planning to change all the relevant parts in the first few months of ownership, then yes, the extra is worth it for the comp....

“Without change something sleeps inside us, and seldom awakens. The sleeper must awaken.” - Unless the sleeper buys a comp in the first place.

Hell, the 700w battery alone is worth the 1000 difference.. It's the biggest thing I miss in my 2019 comp.

The fork going from the Rockshox 35 to the lyrik is a huge step up. Going from the mission control the the Charger damper.

NX to GX derailleur is a pretty decent step up in performance and build quality.. The NX derailleurs can be pretty shittacular.

The Comp gets the Guide RE brakes that are 4 piston F+R where the Levels on the base level are only 2 piston in the rear and overall pretty lacking for how heavy the bikes are.

The Comp does get the Rockshox Deluxe + vs the standard Rockshox Deluxe.. Only difference is the lever to firm up compression on the rear shock.. I never touch mine, so I'd consider that a moot point.

The Manic is a nicer seat post is nicer than the TranzX dropper.. And the XL sizes of the Comp get a 170mm compared to a 150mm

Overall I think that the Comp is a much better buy for the extra $1000. As I said, the upgrade from the 500w to 700w battery is worth it by itself. I absolutely can't wait until the 700w batteries come back into stock at Specialized. The 500w is a good 2-4 hour battery for me.. But not quite what I could get away with on an all day ride unless I had to bike tuned to super Eco mode.

0 - 6 for Comp model. Thx to all. Now I have to convince my finance minister to increase the budget ?

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”

This might sound weird but when I was a young man and used to commute into London, sometimes when a train rolled into the platform, if I was standing far enough away from people I would say "Mmmmmmm Shai Haluud"
I think for most people who've commuted into London, the experience in a jammed train can't be that dissimilar to being stuck in a giant sand worm ??????

Only thing to consider is the weight rating for both. If you are a heavier rider than the alloy model might be the correct choice. I think it is rated to 136 kgs whereas the comp is 10kgs ish less (from memory).
