Hi everyone,

Fist time poster, been lurking in the comments for a bit.

On my ride yesterday morning I had my assistance level set to max, red, turbo what ever it's called on bosch. I noticed I was putting in a lot of effort but not really going any where. Turned the assistance to eco and the assistance level was the same..... put back to max and there was no pick up.

Turned off and back on and bike felt normal in max setting....for about 20 secs then back to eco level assistance (controller still showing red setting) did this a few times same outcome every time.
Bike is a whyte e160s 2023. Had since Jan this year from new. Think it's the bosch cx gen 4.

So, sorry for all the waffle, just wondering if anyone had had this issue before, I couldn't find anything with a search.

Cheers, Nick.

What controller do you have on your bike? Is it the handlebar mounted LED Remote? Did you get any fault code.......orange colour on the large led?
Have you checked for fault reports in the Flow App?

Thanks for the reply.

The handlebar LED controller. No faults shown, no orange LED's, it just stayed displaying the colour of the set mode. I could cycle through the 4 riding modes and assistance was the same in each. I didn't have my phone with me at the time but when I got back I connected it and no errors where shown.

Very strange.

I did update to latest firmware so will have to see if anything changes. Wil test on Weds when I'm next out.

After the issue you had or before?

Updated after the issue. Not tested yet to see if issue is still present.

Hi and welcome to the forum
Sorry to hear about your issues regarding your power losses and I would like to share my very brief experience.
A few months ago I had a very short test around the block on a Trek Rail with the same motor as your Whyte and it honestly felt to me to have the similar low torque/power regardless of what mode it was in.Tbh it felt no better than the Bosch SX motor on an Orange Phase EVO LE I demoed previously. I was expecting a major difference in acceleration and pulling power. The guy in the shop said they would need to download updates if I was buying the bike but I was so underwhelmed I bought an Orange instead.
I’ve since read on this forum about some riders having issues after installing the Bosch updates.
Makes me wonder what’s going on behind the scenes with downloadable tuning for our expensive e-bikes.
Hope you get it sorted soon.

For anyone interested I had maybe 2 rides since the sw update and the issue didn't return. Blown the shock on it though so out of action currently whilst it's gone back to Sram. Suspect / hope it was a one off.
