tubeless tire question

It seems that I have a lot of sealant leaking out of my tires all over the tire. Both tires, both sides. Some from right by the rim, some from various spots on the side wall. It all seems to be on the sidewalls, none leaking from the tread area. First bike with tubeless tires and my question is this normal? Seems to happen every ride.

Looks like tyre burping to me (not enough pressure for what you are doing, allowing the tyre bead to briefly separate from the rim when cornering hard). But you say it's coming from the sidewalls too? Hmmm.

That sidewall leaking has only ever happened to me when I didn't use a latex sealant.

If you believe that you have lost a lot of sealant, it would be worth topping up before doing this....

Remove the wheels, pump up the tyres to at least 40psi. Then give each one a very vigorous shaking, side to side and back and forth, whilst holding the wheel horizontally in front of you. Then sit it on a bucket, plant pot, or similar. Leave the wheel horizontal for 30 mins. Then flip, shake and repeat (don't forget to restore pressure to 40psi). Do this for both wheels. This allows the sealant to sit on the sidewalls and for the pressure to force the sealant into the pores. Check to see how well the tyre held pressure. If it has lost anything other than a few psi, do it again.

I thought the same thing. I rode with them at 50PSI today (Max PSI for the tires). I am heavier (245lbs) and tend to ride with them between 40-50 PSI. Being heavier, maybe that is the issue with burping? I have had the tires since August (When I got the bike) and they have always done this. I added latex sealant about a month ago. Tires seem to hold pressure pretty good and always have. They seem to loose a few lbs per ride, not much. 90+% of leaking sealant is from the rim area. I might just get some new tires and see if that fixes the problem.

Not normal, especially when its from multiple spots on the rim. I see this only when the pressure is too low. If those are the original tires that came with the bike I'd expect them to be the correct width for the rims.

What sealant? Make sure its a quality brand from your LBS.

If you go with new tires I'd go with heavier side walls, something with a downhill casing - may or may not rectify the issue but at 245lbs it may be worth it either way. Especially in the rear.

Hopefully you'll get it sorted sooner than later, someone here has most likely has been thru it.

If those are Exo. I can burp an Exo casing tyre at 40psi on the rear cornering and I'm a few stone lighter than you @CraigR
At your weight I'd try with a DH casing on the rear for extra sidewall support. maybe even fit an insert as well. Not for puncture prevention but to hold the bead in place and offer some added sidewall support
