Trying to decide 150 vs 160 …..??

Hi Whyte people
Sorry if this is an annoying question as I get it’s all personal preference etc…… but lol
I’m looking for a new bike and still can’t make up my mind to go for a 150 or 160 obviously 27.5 vs 29 and spec to choose from S vs RS and £
I plan to ride a mix of single track mainly and bike parks occasionally.

Visually I love both S colour bikes but that aside has anyone ridden both that can shred some light on how / which they thought / think was better the 29’ or the 27.5 …. ?

The short answer to your question is no I havent ridden both ..I ride a 160 rs with 27.5 wheels and cant fault it for the type of riding I do ..mainly XC big days out and trail centres ( but not Bike Parks with big jumps ) ..
The mate I ride with ( The EMF ) tackles everything that I ride on his 150rs ..and without actually having ridden it ..I cant note a great deal of difference ..
Im pretty biased ( most probably wrongly ) when it comes to wheel size as the only 29'ers Ive ever ridden felt as if they had the turning ability of an ocean going liner ...
Ive also noticed your other thread regarding " Which Bike Should I Choose " ..where Rob has pointed you in the direction of the Trek Rail ..he gets to ride an awful lot of bikes so taking his advice on board I would try to demo your shortlist if at all possible ..

Have decided definitely to go for a Whyte this week ! Just very torn between 150 and 160 both RS models ….. 29vs27.5 and obviously Rockshox vs Fox….. my pal who’s certainly pretty experienced with riding in the U.K. and Ebikes recons 150 - 29’er all day but I’m just not 100% sure, having had the mullet set up on my SC it’s the only thing I have to go on … stability is definitely a plus but I still want maximum fun and a light nimble bike

Cant really help you anymore ..however my mates E150 rs is in the original format with 27.5 wheels and discussing this while out with him yesterday he reckons that the main reason for going to a 29er setup on this years model is to give slightly more clearence .
Ive never ridden any bike with more stability than my 160rs ..and you already know my views on 29ers..while its good to get advice from your pal ..does he actually ride either of these bikes ?
So the bottom line is down to suspension preference ..and I cant really help you there as Ive never ridden RS ..but the Fox set up is spot on ..
In terms of what you are looking for I would steer you towards the e160rs ..its a killer machine and I love it more with each ride ..

It’s your hard earned money at the end of the day so your choice. I have the E150RS 2020 model which is 27.5 which is what I wanted. Before that I had a 29er cube for two years but it never felt right. A great bike but the 29 set up was not for me. Have not ridden a 29er Whyte so can’t comment on that part but for me it’s 27.5 all day. Read my review on it in the review section. Being a short arse myself I went for the E160s with the 27.5 wheels. I’ll hopefully be taking it out for the first ride on the weekend.

I couldn’t decide and then found it difficult finding stock after one bike sold …. So in a last minute change of heart and Leap of faith I’ve got a new Megawatt Elite on its way ! Hopefully it’s just what I’m after
