The upper Mud Guard still not doing its job. I decided to make a custom lower guard and this is what a came up with. This should take care of mud and small rocks from getting in between the chain stay and frame opening.

We went fender shopping yesterday at our 3 LBS’s. No luck, sold out.
The Trek Rail rear tire is the issue with placing mud and small rocks into the lower pivot. I’ve installed a modified Muckynuttz fender after carefully trimming it to length and drilling new holes. A Velcro strap under the zip ties helps protect the paint and carbon. If you modify this fender properly then you can also avoid tire-buzz…most of the time.

I’d be willing to try this new-type fender for the Rail. Modifing an add-on fender is…well you better get it right.

Has anyone tried fitting one of these to an alloy Rail?

I would think that lacking ‘sideburns’ that strap to seatstays it has to precisely form-fit whatever you call the crosspiece it straps to (used to called the brake bridge?) and the carbon version would likely wobble on the alloy frame

Just chucking it out there…does anyone have a 3D print file for something similar to this, I’d happily buy one. But the cost from the States is mind blowing and I have a friend with a decent 3d printer

Well they don’t 😂 guess it’s less of a problem away from the U.K.

Hoping someone has designed something similar so I can get it printed. Otherwise I’ll ask my mate if he can make me something similar
here in northeast USA we need a mudguard BAD, specially this time of year. my bike is a filthy mess right now but still in kitchen on a bike stand whilst I try to wrestle a maxxis onto new Bontrager carbon wheels. Man I can never get the last little bit of the tire to go rim without a massive struggle.
