I know this doesnt actually answer your question but just bought a spare
KMC X11e Sport Bicycle Chain, Silver, 126L

Would think frame size would not matter. The chains stays are the same between all the sizes

How many links should there be in a Large size Trance +2 chain please?
Never counted. Is this just a trivia question or is there some context?

If you're replacing your original, then any 12spd chain will be long enough and more than likely need to be shortened. You would always cut the length of the new chain to be the same as the old

I believe so too. Where it would matter is if the cassette has been swapped or if specs are different in various countries - the largest cog size will have a bearing... so may not be a good idea to just go by the number of links.

Rule of thumb is with the chain shifted over to the largest cog, that the tensioner arm is pointing forward with a bit of 'give' still available - to allow for the suspension movement.
