Morning, just a quick question (if there is such a thing on this forum) putting my motor back in today spesh Levo fatty fsr 2018 3 bolts that hold it onto the bike frame any ideas on toque settings please ?
Its 18nm on a 2019 Levo....cant think it would be wildly different on the 2018 but you may want to wait to see if any 2018 owner knows exactly.Morning, just a quick question (if there is such a thing on this forum) putting my motor back in today spesh Levo fatty fsr 2018 3 bolts that hold it onto the bike frame any ideas on toque settings please ?
Cheers.....had a interesting conversation with Chris from Berkshire Cycles about the settings, his words “as tight as you can get them” he did go into a few other things about ware & tare on the frame which I did have but that’s what I did.Its 18nm on a 2019 Levo....cant think it would be wildly different on the 2018 but you may want to wait to see if any 2018 owner knows exactly.
the bolts are only 6mm and threaded into the mag alloy casing of the motor so 18nm is plenty. Surprised the manual does not specify threadlock though.Seems very low?
I can only assume Chris was referring to use of a standard allen key...not a star or T handle type though. As a general guideline, the engineering toolbox is a decent reference. Still, always refer to your bike's manufacturer's specs, since it's not just about the bolt itself. See below. Also, "as tight as you can get it" is generally a bad idea. ;-)

I took him as he new I was using a 13mm socket....he also said that all the 2018 Levo they sold they removed the 3 nuts holding the motor copper slipped & retighten them his wordsI can only assume Chris was referring to use of a standard allen key...not a star or T handle type though.
