Hi all,

I am riding a brand new Raymon Hardray E 7.0 with the Yamaha PW-X3, just bought it last week.
I want to understand if a noise I hear is normal or not. The concern is due to the fact that for the first 20-30km it did not make this noise (maybe I didn't notice it?).
The noise is coming from the motor and it's there only when the motor is working. If I am over 25km/h or with the assistance "off" it's not making it.
The noise is like a muted "toc toc toc toc" coming from the engine, with a frequency of 5-10 "toc" per revolution of the pedals.
I tried to record it with my phone:

Thanks to anyone who may help me!

I have a PW-X3 on my Haibike and it’s really smooth with no extra noise. Does changing gear make a difference?
No, no difference at all. The sound is always the same and it appears only when the motor is giving energy

My Yamaha motor is silent as well. One of my favorite parts of the bike is hot quiet it is compared to other bikes. I would take the bike to the shop to get it looked at.

I have this exact same problem occuring in my PW-X3 motor. Unfortunately the bike is now out of warranty so I'm having to search for a solution. I built the bike one year ago after purchasing a second hand 2022 Giant Reign E+2 Frame and Motor. I ride it every day and the motor has been trouble free until now. The noise is 100% exactly the same as your recordings. I've dismantled the motor and found no obvious damage. Cleaned regreased and resealed, but no improvement. I'm now thinking the noise may be coming from the motor stator shaft rather than any of the main motor bearings and am about to do another disassembly to investigate further. Did you get any insight about the source of the toc toc noise or what caused the issue in your PW-X3 motor? Appreciate any other thoughts or words of wisdom before I begin.
