Thule bike carrier

Hi All
I'll probably answer my own question here!! but here goes.
I have a Thule tow hitch bike rack with a carrying capacity of 44kg perfect for my non-ebike's in a previous life. i thought it would be sufice to carry my levo - however the width is nowwhere near wide enough to sit the tyres of my bike in - i have extended the plastic tyre seats to max. Has anyone modified these to fit you E's or is it a matter of buying another form of transportation?
