Hi I pick up my Jam2 later in the month and I have an array of 591s on my cars. Does anyone know if they will fit round the battery packed tube? And if I remove the battery are there exposed electrodes?

TIA.

Not sure about if the roof rack will fit around the tube but I would think it's safer to remove the battery to reduce the weight.
When I use my rack (easyfold xt3) I remove the battery and use a battery pin cover to protect from the elements:

Thanks Flipa, that was going to be my next question and was hoping there was a commercially availably product else a 3d print job!

I assume the battery simply drops / folds / pivots out?

If the battery is removed in the same way as it is on Thron2 then yes it's super easy to remove. The bike comes with a key that you use to unlock the battery and then there is a release catch that allows the battery to slide out.

Removing the battery will certainly make lifting the bike onto the roof much easier, but I would double check the roof rack is certified to carry the weight of an e-bike as many aren't, which will cause issues with insurance should you have an accident.

The battery drops out of the Jam² with the Bosch motor in exactly the same way as it does on the Thron². (Me and the missus have one of each). And, yes, the contacts are on display so you do need the Bosch plug.

I see that the Thule 591 has a 20kg weight limit. I think that the fully dressed (i.e. with pedals and decent tyres) Jam² probably exceeds that by a kg or two even without the battery - assuming aluminium frame. The carbon frame may well be less.
