TEC pack vs E-Booz battery; compatibility of both options for installing MegNeg

Hi everyone! My first post here :)

I've got 2018 Jam2 Plus, medium sized frame (specs are pretty much the same as here: Focus Bikes - JAM² Plus). Did a couple of upgrades already - cassette (SLX -> XT), chainring (34T -> 38T), assist shifter (8000 -> 7000), rear hub; replacing the stock fork pending (revelation rc 140 mm -> swiss dt 535 boost).

Now it's time for a battery upgrade as well, cause internal one of a 2018 model gives me only about 35 of range on mostly eco mode (though with assist unlocked, so I guess consumption is a bit higher). Anyhow, selecting between ebooz 250W (The Battery Range Extender da 36V 7Ah 250Wh ~) and TEC pack. Aside from bad press for e-booz, maybe somebody did some comparisons in size between them? What I am mainly interested in is which option will allow me to install MegNeg (How to get even more performance from your suspension – RockShox MegNeg Upgrade for Deluxe and Super Deluxe shocks | ENDURO Mountainbike Magazine) for the stock rear shock. I know that TEC is much bigger, but maybe someone has installed both it and MegNeg? Otherwise I would have to consider E-booz; I think its size will allow it without any issues.

Other questions re TEC vs Ebooz:
1. Are they waterproof (like in riding in light rain)? To me, TEC looks a bit more protected against splashes
2. How secure is TEC fitted? Won't it fall off during extreme trail riding? With E-booz it seems that it is up to you how you secure it, cause they don't have a standard option for that
3. Charging. For TEC - you should use the standard charger which came with the bike, right? And what about e-booz? Did not find any info on their website.

Hi, I don't know anything about the E-booz battery, apart from their customer service is terrible! But I've attached a photo below of my bike with tec pack fitted, although I have a Fox shock and not a Rockshox one...

Oh and it's very secure on the bike, I've put a small strip of duct tape on the back to make it fit tighter as it did rattle occasionally. I haven't had any issues with water etc and yes it charges with standard Focus charger. It's not the most elegant thing though...

Hey, @stiv674 - thanks a lot for your reply and taking time to post a photo. I assume that when compressed, shock will lean towards TEC quite a bit... so maybe no space for piggyback MegNeg module

No problem, I think there are threads on this forum discussing this issue. It will depend on which frame size you have I think... And maybe some modification to the TEC pack mounting rail.

Received an answer from Focus support. They say that MegNeg should fit without problems with TEC pack. Will take this route and post my findings here
