I had a magpie destroy my balsa wood airplane when I was a kid . Took me months to build that plane. I still love magpies though. You gotta respect there attitude. .

They're also one of the few animals that has "theory of mind", meaning that they can understand what is going on in another animals mind and more fundamentally understand that others might have a different understanding of the world that themself. Humans only manage that around 4-5 years old. A skill that is necessary to be able to lie effectively.

And that not only use tools, but can make them too. Something that was once thought to be a defining differentiator between humans and other animals.

Damned cool animals.

The European Magpie is a completely different bird to its Australian counterpart ( yeah I googled that as it looked different in the video )
It would appear to me to be less loud & aggressive ..in much the same way as its human equivalent
