This evening just get my new arrival rear mudguard installed, was prepared for some difficult cut on it but surprisingly it matched almost perfect without doing any modification on my Levo 20, I don't even need to remove the bottom plastic/rubber protector, while the suspension compressed, the mudguard actually is moving away from the frame, so no worry about friction. This mudguard is designed for fork which is a long version, I am currently running a 27.5 2.6 rear wheel by the way, but for the clearance and space I think 29 2.3 should no problem as well.

I have the same in my 2020 Kenevo although I had to cut it slightly to clear the chain. It provides excellent protection to the rear pivots and back of the motor in the worse UK conditions. Definitely a good choice if you ride anywhere it’s wet and muddy which is all year round here in the UK!

I do ride the short one in the back and the long one in the front, with 29 x 2.6 wolfpack tires.
Works perfect.

even in dry conditions it's a good idea to put something to protect in there. in just one ride my new bike was full of stone chips on the seat tube, and little rocks were getting stuck in the rubber protector at the bottom.
