Hi All,
Due to heart issues 4-5yrs ago had to give up football so got a hard tail (voodoo bizango) mtb instead, issue is hills send heart thumping which could (literally) kill me, so an emtb is the answer, unfortunately an off the shelf emtb is out my price range so going down the conversion route, pretty much decided on a barfang mid drive but confused about possible ranges of the different motors, prob going for 48v 17.5AH battery, but would a smaller (wattage) motor result in increased range (not really interested in going faster than I could pedal with regular mtb so 20mph max.
A yone able to point me in the right direction? Cheers.

Get a 4 yr interest free option on a decent £4k (ish) full suspension option if that’s possible, warranty wise you need to be the first owner really, ebikes aren’t cheap but since I bought one it’s been plenty of esmiles since

Just check your local shops and try to stay local ideally

And try to get a Bosch motor with a 625w battery, you can use more turbo mode when it’s needed, it’s the most powerful and pretty reliable with good support
Have been looking at the cube Reaction Hybrid Pro - can't stump up for a full sus, but it does have the bosch gen4 & 625w battery... Reviews seem good, stock looks poor everywhere tho!

Cubes are a perfect starter bike tbh, they come pretty much best bang for buck also and with the 27.5 inch wheels they turn easier also, but not quite as good at going uphill but I was thinking Cube
