Stereo 140 2021 front sag?

Hi, I'm trying to set the front sag but there are no markings or orange band on my forks - FS-35S-TK-A1.
Does anyone know how to do it please?

Hi, usually the manufacturer of the fork will go you an air pressure for your weight as rough guide.
You can loosely wrap a cable tie around the fork where the band would be and use this to get the sag then just cut it off after.

Hi Northerncube, I have used the Zip tie method on other bikes where they give you measurements to work to, but I don't know where 20% or 30% is on my forks! The RockShox video says "if you don't have markings, go to 'Service'" but in fact there's nothing there to assist.

The only other way I could think is measuring the fork travel with a tape measure.
I think I’m right in saying if you have 120mm of actual fork travel 20% would be 24mm
You could then put the cable tie on until you get it to this distance from the fork crown.

For a 140mm fork, 20% of travel will be 28mm, for 30% it will be 42mm.
If the fork is 150mm 20% will be 30mm, for 30% it will be 45mm

This is measured from the top of the fork seal to the underside of the zip tie
Start with these and see how it feels

Sorry if I’m asking you a stupid question but the recommended pressure table isn’t on the back of one of the fork legs is it.

Great idea guys, its Stereo 2021 with 140 forks so 20% of travel will be 28mm, for 30% it will be 42mm. I'll see if the rough air pressure setting is correct now. Many thanks both.

I had found and used the table on the back of the forks, just wanted to do it properly.

You should also set the suspension up in your riding gear. i.e with back pack water bottle etc or anything you carry on yourself and bike on a normal ride.

If you set it up without, there's a chance that 'fully laiden' it'll be a bit too soft.

The best thing is to use the numbers as a starting point and tune to suit how you ride

Thanks Peaski, I have now read the article so should be sorted. Why RockShox put graduations on the Rear Shock but not on the front is anybodies guess, must have saved a penny

I agree, the fox forks on mine have the band but no marks on the forks so it’s not as easy to work out, would be nice to have just an easy visual reference
makes things a lot easier when they do.??

Must admit, when setting up my current bike (2020 Stereo 160) I didn't measure it. I just set it by eye and rode it.
Front ended up spot on, but needed a bit of air in the rear shock

Both are set to around 30%

Still on shock setup, I have noticed my compression adjuster only moves 90deg and does not click at all. The Rebound is very stiff, also turns 90deg and clicks 4 times - if I push it in it turns without clicking. Is all this normal please?
