SRAM Powertrain noise

Hi Everyone -

I am a new owner of a Transition Repeater PT (new SRAM motor) and after just three rides, a new and horrible squeaking noise has developed in the drive-side crank/chainring area. At first I thought it might be the chain (it's been pretty wet, so maybe needed more chain lube), but alas it's where the crank arm meets the spindle and motor housing. I assume it's just some dirt and grime in some of the internals and I would normally just pull the drivetrain apart and clean and re-lube, but being brand new to E-bikes and especially the SRAM motor assembly, I am wondering how far I should go on my own. The SRAM Powertrain manual says I should be able to take the cranks and chainring off (allowing me to get in and clean the area), but I would like to know if someone else here has run into this issue and whether a home cleaning fixes it, or if it is indicative of a bigger internal motor issue that requires visiting a shop/dealer.

Thanks!

You should not honestly, do not buy a discount price.

Everything is outdated on the sram powertrain, motor is pretty old and new version of the Brose is already there (100% different from controler, battery to motor) but not distributed not yet mentioned by sram.

Good luck to find a LBS that can service or do support for the motor under SRAM certification, so, meaning send it back to propain which is a nonsense.

I really like the geo and look of the bike but for its price even in sale, the battery is far from what it should be too, especially for a FF bike and the recent models, f... integrated headset, dummy paper bolt on suspension that break.

Honestly this is why they place so much discount: free extender, -20%, yeah, never been a great deal except for the gimmick of the sram powertrain.

Good to know also, for the past few years, Propain had terrible issue with their Carbon frame.

There are people without issue, lots with issue, when it works sram powertrain is silent and pretty nice (if you love the autoshift and costing - but that should not be a decision maker).

I would not recommend either the AL version with Shimano, not because it is a Shimano, you can like it, but because the battery is not great either and nearly all people complains about efficiency/range.

Anyway, take this more as an hint that a global truth, you never know the real number of people with/without issue. But there are a lot of people falling into these issues, so for such a price I would think twice.

beside this broken motor i had no real issues. i ride most of the time with 5 other guyes with DIFFERENT motors and ALL of them have had a broken a motor in the last years. so i guess it depends on the riding if you will have issues with the motor. the problem is if you think if it is a sram motor than every sram-dealer will help you. NOPE. as often it depends.... on the dealer, or the country. and problem with motor on the propain will most likely mean sending it back to them. and thats horror in my eyes.
as long as you live 30km around propain itself it should be ok.
would i again by the propain? no, but because of the kinematic. i'm coming from a kenevo sl and the kinematics are not even comparable in my opinion. and by the way the mahle-motor in the kenevo sl has nearly 6000km with no issue.

i would go for the amflow now, but i'm also not shure if the dji-motor will work for milage...

Surprising that you would compare it to the Kenevo SL as it is not really the same type of bike - except travel? light bike versus Full power.

Kenevo handling is awesome because of kinematic and light frame, Ekano 2 is more of a monster truck, roam over everything, not playful or poppy as the Kenevo SL.

You cannot either recommend the Amflow, I mean you can, but definitely a trail bike and not an Enduro bike.

I would never be able to ride with safely and fun what I can ride on an Ekano2 versus the Amflow.
