I have some experience with escalators, which are essentially big contraptions that run on chains and sprockets, just like your bike. It's common to see escalators running for months or years in one direction, wearing in one direction. When the direction is changed, you can expect problems.
Changing the direction of worn jockey wheels probably isn't as big an issue. But out of habit, I always mark mine and replace them in the original orientation.
Hi there - its fits the cage assembly where it attaches to the clutch - be careful if you do unscrew it though as the spring tension will whip the thing off - easy enough to re-tension though and if you are expecting it... then hold tight
If you look carefully you will see the jockey wheels are marked ( u=upper, L=lower) on one face. Keep that as the outside face and you have a permanent way to refit the same way if/when you service the jockey wheels later.
nb the machine screw with the RED locktite is for the guide/upper jockey wheel...............blue locktite for the lower jockey wheel.
