Hey all - first post. I am going to install the new Sram GX T-type transmission in my '22 Turbo Levo Alloy. The installation looks pretty straightforward. I know that I need to remove the old system on the bike but I am hesitant to remove the outer housing cable for the derailer just in case I don't like the new system. Is it hard to rerun the outer housing?

I was just thinking about zip tieing the outer house to the frame.

Thoughts, ideas etc........open to suggestions.

Thanks

Hi
If your not sure that sounds like a fair idea , why go to the hassle of rerouting the cable a try before you buy sort of situation (y)

There is a push/pull technique available if you use the proper coupler/connector. I’ve used this technique in the past and avoided dropping the motor. It’s a bit more difficult than zap strapping a temporary cable housing to the frame. Any clamping areas must be loosened though to ease the process.
