Hi. I have a 2021 Giant e-Trance 29er with the “e-TR1” spokes. Would someone be able to tell me what size replacement I need? I broke a spoke and need to replace it. It looks like a straight pull 2.0/1.5 and about 287mm in length. I’d probably just get a DT Swiss competition.

Also, the spoke went into the XTR derailleur and bent the inner cage plate. I can’t find a replacement in stock anywhere in the US. Any suggestions? Should I bother or just get an SLX derailleur?

Thanks!

New cage cost around 50Euro... so it is up to You. I'd rather buy even Deore RD-M6100 ... it's a bit heavier, but it is cheap, works almost the same, and if it's break... doesn't hurt so much ;) XTR in e-bike it's ridiculous IMHO.

Hi I believe the spokes used are sapim string tbh I've always used sapim most wheel builders do as tolerance is better DT Swiss are designed to use thread lock so not as tight threads but sapim doesn't hope this helps ?

I confirmed that the spokes are in fact Sapim, but they appear to be Laser since it's butted, 2.0/1.5 and the Strong is a 2.3/2.0, at least on my wheels. I'm surprised that they used a "lightweight" spoke, but maybe they were trying to save some weight? It also looks like the spoke is 292mm long, at least on the drive side.

As a side note alot of stuff about spoke is misunderstood the laser is actually alot stronger than thicker spokes like string or race there tensile strength is larger but they will snap easier once that limit is reached where as the thicker ones will stretch and keep the wheel together ? Pros have ran CX ray for downhill wheels for years there light as hell and a fortune lol
