The battery worked fine for 2 days after we bought it second hand... then on the third ride bike turned off after approx 6 km ... after being off for one hour .. it turned itself on again ... the capacity was as before. Now that repeats every ride. That would be me
How long ago it manifested this symptom? Prior to that event, were there any concerning signs? (eg. capacity loss, interruptions when low state of charge). Does the TCU turn on or not?
Hello! Today I had a problem with my turbo levo. When I connect the charger, the third light (on the battery) starts blinking green. Please tell me how to solve this problem? I would contact you for repairs, but I am from Ukraine... I also have a good friend who assembles various electric bicycles like sur-ron, maybe he can help me, but he needs to understand what needs to be done. I am ready to pay for your help!Specialized batteries CAN be repaired. Most M2 batteries with 3rd led blinking when charging have good cells inside and a locked BMS. Assuming the cells are good, I can unlock/repair the BMS so the battery can be used again.
There are parts of the circuit inside that work on very low currents so any moisture inside can prevent the BMS from functioning properly. The firmware will then prevent the battery from being used, setting a PF flag (permanent failure).
I've spent quite a while reverse engineering Specialized battery management systems present on M1 or M2 models.
Also, BMS can be completely separated from the battery in case you want a cell replacement. Then, it can be connected back. I can also reset battery metrics in this case (battery health, cycle count, design capacity).
I have a 2017 Vado whose battery looks like PetronP's. After some rain, it doesn't seem to charge anymore and now I'm getting a single flashing LED on the far right. Is the BMS locked? What's necessary to unlock it?If the cells reach 0v, you can safely dispose them, do not try to charge them or it might end up messy
Assuming the other banks are good (balanced with max delta of 20-30mV), you can try to replace the 3 faulty banks with same cell type. But if the rest of the battery cells are used (lower capacity) their voltage will deviate from the new banks and BMS will give an error.
Also, even if you replace all the cells, you need to unlock the BMS in order to used it again.
I would say the only reliable solution is to replace all the cells.
Most likely water damage on the PCB. Either charging circuit failure or firmware lock because of faults recorded. You said it's not charging, how about discharging? Does the bike still turn on?I have a 2017 Vado whose battery looks like PetronP's. After some rain, it doesn't seem to charge anymore and now I'm getting a single flashing LED on the far right. Hi! Can you please help me with my question? Do I need to reset the BMS?Most likely water damage on the PCB. Either charging circuit failure or firmware lock because of faults recorded. You said it's not charging, how about discharging? Does the bike still turn on?
If the battery won’t output voltage on 36v rail when it’s turned on and the fuses/mosfets are ok cell have the same voltages on all bancs, ntc sensors ok, it might have a firmware lock. I can help, but I need physical access to the BMS board. If you’re in the EU, you can send the board and I will check/unlock it for you.Hi! Can you please help me with my question? Do I need to reset the BMS?
