Hello!

So after a LBS bricked my battery during a firmware update. I'm forced to either take Specialized offer of $900 replacement battery (which is at cost for a gen 1 504wh battery) or check to see if anyone offers an aftermarket battery.

Does the community know of any aftermarket brands or information on this?

I have to say I’m very disappointed in how the LBS and Specialized have not taken guilt or offered any remedies/ solutions to my problem. With only 2,000 miles, something like 80-100 cycles and at 90% battery life. I feel like this should be a covered event, or at-least a discount should have been offered.

I would appreciate any information anyone may have!

Other than what companies like Trail Watts has come up with for range extenders I don't think there are any options available due to Spec's proprietary electronics. Which must be really expensive to implement because I just bought a 780wh 52v 21700 cell battery for my off brand bike for half that? Probably be good business for someone to break their BMS codes and make replacements though. And it's not just S either that is gouging on battery prices.
