Snacks on Tracks

I'll generally pack one or two non sports-specific cereal bars or Go-Ahead Bake bars; or a small flapjack bar.

I probably won't get into them, but - from back in the day when I used to put in big days (Polaris Challenges, Trailquests etc.) on acoustic bikes - I've bonked enough times (just twice - once on a training ride, once on a Trailquest: it's enough) to know I want to avoid the possibility at all costs.

Yes, being on an ebike significantly reduces the likelihood, but I'm 60 now, and I don't train the way I used to, which brings the possibility back up.

So better safe than sorry, eh?

And - importantly - what I might or might not do, doesn't have to meet with the approval of aaaanyone else...

Meh - maybe some GU Chews if doing an all day ride but not strictly necessary.

The only thing I do need is something like this at the end of a ride

Always been an XC rider, even on an e-bike.
Most of my rides are 10 - 20 miles in steep mountains and to avoid being a cannibal, take plenty of snacks......mainly protein bars and trail mix.

I also have a hereditarily HIGH metabolism and would crumble without eats.

It's not a race you know !
In France this is the typical basic essentials any cyclist would have with them if you're planning to be out for more than an hour :

You don't have to be in France though.

This was a photo from one of @steve_sordy's group rides from last year, you can see Steve's "Organisers" pillow in the middle :

This is what @TheBikePilot tows behind him and carries in his bag when on a film session with @Rob Rides EMTB. Professional production requires the correct level of snacks to be available and a suitable place to enjoy them.

That moment when you prepare everything much longer then you actually eat..
