Can anyone tell me what these bolts do please. Cleaning bike today and one is missing. Just watched video of battery being removed and it’s nothing to do with that so just want to know what’s it doing or not in this case. The bolts are on underside of down tube.

Thanks for quick reply. Mind at peace now knowing nothing is going to fall off or stop me riding. (y)

Cheers for that Phil, you have just solved the problem. Went back into the garage thinking maybe I knocked the grommet off while cleaning. Took all of 30 seconds and there on the floor down a crack was a small black bung type thing which is now glued back in the hole. (y)

The top bolt sits against the top of the 625Wh battery, to stop it jumping up the tube.
If I had to guess, I would guess the lower hole with the grommet is positioned to hold a 500Wh battery.

seconded.
When I picked my bike up from the shop, the mechanic explained this hole was to insert the bolt that currently secures the top battery mount when the 625 if fitted. Choose a shorter 500 battery to save weight, you'd have to move the top mount down to this lower hole.

Ah so it’s not just me!

its just a small rubber bung that should go in there but the hole is threaded to take the other bolt for a smaller battery. I was lucky and found the rubber bung so glued it back in to stop water and muck going in hole. (y)
