How slime tyre sealent actually work... Got my first puncture today which slime sealent kindly plugged for me but I was suprized that sealent hadn't dryed in the hole and was still wet.. Surly air pressure will eventually push out sealent and find its way out.

I have used Slime sealant, but I claim no special expertise. Slime sealant does not dry out like latex so you don't need to keep topping it up every few months to maintain a free flowing liquid inside the tyre that can flow to where the puncture is. Slime carries particles in it that block the hole. However, it can be exhausted by lots of punctures, as latex sealants can also. I like Slime because it doesn't dry out, but I like latex because it seals the side walls faster. If your tyre is not a designated tubeless or tubeless ready tyre, It can take quite a while for Slime to seal the sidewalls, if it ever does. But since most of the tyres that emtbs use will be tubeless or TLR, then it's not really an issue.

The oozing will slow dramatically quite soon, but will continue to create damp spots on your tyre. A benefit of that is that you will be able to count how many punctures you've had! :)
