Levo SL Gen 1 SHOULD I BUY A BACKUP MOTOR ?

I love my Levo SL and was thinking to purchase a brand new backup motor for it. Reason being is this new 2023 is to arrive soon, and not sure how obsolete the older Mahle 1.1 will become. Anybody have advice?

My goal would be to have this bike 10 years if I can and have already owned from new for a bit over 2 years. I also ride in Eco 99 percent of the time, using the motor in Trail/Turbo sparingly uphill and mostly only when commuting on pavement.

If it was me, I would contact the ebike motor rebuild people (Home | eBike Motor Repair) and discuss "upgrading". Based on the videos I've watched that these folks put out, they have identified the weak links in the system and put in upgraded hardware. If your motor is in running order, upgrade it. Weigh your options......
