Hi all.

After a very brief trial into the eMTB world, I'm hooked :) But I'm still researching which eMTB deserves my money.

I'm not going to spend too long researching, because there is probably not a terrible choice out there if I stick with known brands and local bike shops with good service.

My first experience was with a Brose (Secialized Levo), but I feel the need to explore a Shimano E8000 motor equipped bike. The Focus Jam2 with this motor is on my radar now.

There seem to be two apps available - E-TUBE and E-TUBE RIDE. Both seem to get awful reviews on the App Store site.

Is the E8000 as tuneable to the user as the Brose? It would be nice if it was.

To answer the question, no it isn't. You don't get the "all singing - all dancing" software available that Specialized provide. But as the previous post reveals, you can obtain software that will do the job.

I have a Jam2 with the E8000 motor and yes I would like to have the Speccy software, but only as a nice to have. I don't need it, in fact I'm not even motivated to pay for any software like the ST unlocker. The Brose motors have a lot of problems, don't take my word for it, just read the threads on this site. Not nearly as many problems with the E8000. I have been through two winters in the UK with mine and I've had zero problems with the motor.
