Shimano motor and battery

I've always discounted the shimano system due to its smaller 500wh battery.
I very nearly bought a trek rail and most bikes I'm keen on have the bosch system, but then I think I'm only favouring them because of the 625wh battery!

So...
Real world personal thoughts on the shimano 500wh battery.... Is it man enough? What is the power delivery like?
I'm off to he JE James demo in a few weeks, mainly to ride the Orbea but I'm now interested in the shimano bikes
I ride Surrey hills, BPW, Dyfi forest and Triscombe, a mix of which and plummet type stuff and medium enduro/trail days about 15-20 miles.

15-20 miles is easily achievable with the 500Wh battery. That's what I do on my usual loop which is around 1600ft elevation gain. I always have a couple of bars left (25%ish) A second battery is always an option too for around 400 quid.

The Shimano trail mode works really well balancing economy with power.

In terms of overall performance I still have some none technical climbs where I was faster on the e8000 than the brose kenevo.

Is it similar to the emtb mode on the bosch gen 4?

I believe in concept it's similar. Not tried the Bosch. But yes, it adjusts automatically.
