Shimano Hyperglide Plus - No need to back off the pedalling?

I noticed on Shimano's website for the Hyperglide+ technology they mention "HYPERGLIDE+ will help kickstart the next generation of mountain bike riding by introducing continuous pedaling over virtually any terrain. ".

And i hear around the place that it means you can just keep pedalling and not take pressure off and it will change gears fine without locking up.

Is this really the case? Even for e-bike torque levels?

This sounds too good to be true. For anyone using Hyperglide+ cogs + chain, how do you rate it? Do you feel the need to take off pressure pedalling when you shift?

it does shift well under lowish assist and i could see on a traditional bike how you might be able to shift smoothly under load. However with my emtb it still sucks with full assist and also shifting going uphill at lower rpm is klunky
