Hi,
on the previous firmware when the battery arrives at 8% immediately passes to 2% and I thought that the new firmware update will fix that but I recently updated to the 4.2.0 and it get worst, it passes from 12% to 2%.
has anyone have something similar to this? I searched but not found anything.

Thanks in advance
regards

I've only had one EP8 and two batteries, so my experience is limited. With both batteries, as they got older and degraded, the system behaved as you describe. I would expect the symptom to become worse as the battery ages even more. On the bright side, Shimano replaced the first battery.

I have an EP8. Would you explain what you mean by "arrives at 8% immediately passes to 2%.."

It's the "passes to" phrase that I don't understand (although @RustyIron obviously does).

My experience is that the battery level declines at a predictable rate until it started getting low. When the battery starts getting low, that rate increased dramatically. As time goes on the point at which the rate increases becomes earlier and earlier.

For instance, when my battery wasn't extremely old, once the remaining battery life hit 10%, it wasn't long until the battery was dead. As the battery got older, the remaining juice would plummet when I hit 20%.

I hope that explains what I'm thinking.

I haven't noticed what you're describing but to be honest, I've never run my battery down that low.

Since updating though, I've felt like the battery level is reported differently from how it was before. If anything, it appears that mine goes down slower than if used to. It's always been consistent and now for some reason, if seems to stay at a higher level for longer.

Obviously, the capacity hasn't changed but I wonder if the way the battery level is measured or reported has changed?

In my case, where it looks like it's discharging slower, I can imagine if I did get low on battery, it would drop real quick at some point.
