Shimano Battery "Recovery"

Don't know if anyone else has picked up on this, but almost certainly someone has. I'm pretty anal about checking my battery level with ST Unlocker and noticed something curious.A couple of times I checked my battery level about 20 minutes after a ride, and then checked it again a day or more later and notice that the battery level had increased by 6-7%. Once it went from 68% to 75%, and more recently it went from 9% to 15%. I wonder which one is closer to the truth. I'd heard that battery chemistry needs to stabilize after a ride and I guess this is evidence that there's something to it.

With lead acid batteries, voltage drops when under load and 'recovers' slightly shortly after the load is removed.
I'm guessing it could be the same with lithium.

Yep, I would guess this is the case. I would expect the remaining battery % would be based on battery voltage which will drop under load. After a ride (where the load has been applied dragging the voltage down) the voltage will slowley rise again, showing an increase in remaining capacity. There is probably damping in the reporting of remaining % or it will be changing all the time as you ride.

A change in ambient temperature may also change the voltage, and so reported %

How about your effective battery capacity? Has it ever increased or only decreased?
