Answered Shimano battery compatability

Hi does anyone know if the Shimano Steps E6000 and E8000 batteries are interchangeable?
BT-E6010 swap with BT-E8010
The bike is a Merida E160 800 and there is a BT-E6010 battery for sale locally.

searched shimano site an the answer is no they have different mounting system different connectors so they are not compatible

Thanks for the answers, I was thinking that might be the case Apparently you can fit the 8000 battery in the 6000
