Servicing a Shimano Motor on Focus Jam2

A mate has a Jam2 with Shimano motor.
Bought 2nd hand , so no warranty .
Has some issues with the motor.
Can anyone help with suggestions as to where he could get it sorted?
He's drawn a blank every where he's tried so far

Until last week, the e8000 motor was not seen as serviceable at all. Then @SmokeyBear posted that he had done it!
