Routing cables through headset - where does the water go?

I see that new Cubes and Haibikes route cables through the headset without rubber seals which begs the question where does the rain/wash water go?

The engineer in me hopes there is hidden German engineering in there to safely route the water away from the headset lower bearing.

The cynic in me suspects there is none because they don't care if your bearings rust up several months later!

So does the headset bearing get wet every time it rains?
Can a sealed bearing handle being wet often?
If bearing does not get wet then how are they stopping it?

They get wet!!
I'd like to hear more though:

Is it bad, really, considering that wheel bearings get wet too though they are way less likely to hold water.

If I pointed a hose at the stem of a 2022 Cube Stereo for a minute would there still be about 10mm of water sitting in the headset the next day? Is it then just supposed to evaporate without hurting the bearing(s)?

Exposing the headsets to water sounds such a terrible idea, surely someone in Engineering has thought this through and has come up with an argument why it would be ok!
