Rim tape for my Haibike

Hi folks. I’d like to convert to tubeless on my allmtn 2.0.
It has alexrims MD35. My tires are 27.5 x 2.8 anyone know the rim tape size?
Alex rims has no contact email nor does Haibike. ( would love to know if anyone has emails to these folks)

You don’t need to email them. Just buy DT-Swiss rim tape in the proper width

And I would add 25mm/10m roll should be more than enough and plenty wide.

I recently converted my Tryp 35s to tubeless using 40mm tape and it was perfect. I tried using narrower tape but it would not seal.

I used 25mm wide Gorilla tape in that woven black finish that looks like Carbon fibre. I put one layer down to the left and one layer down to the right. This fills the bed and ensures a double layer over the spoke holes. The double layer stops the air pressure from depressing the tape into the spoke holes. That is important to ensure that when you are inflating the tyre tubeless, the incoming air can't escape between the tyre bead and the depressions (if that is where the beads naturally lie). Ensure that each run of tape starts an inch or so before the valve hole. Punch through the valve hole with a nail or a bradawl from the tape side. Then open it out firmly with something tapered. This should pretty much guarantee that the tubeless valve will seal.

Note: There are many fans of Gorilla Tape on this Forum and elsewhere (my LBS for ex). But some on this Forum have said not to use Gorilla tape because it leaves a sticky residue if you need to remove it. OK, fair comment. But I have never had to remove any I have applied, and if I did, there are all sorts of proprietary stuff that will shift sticky residue: meths, Iso-Propyl Alcohol (brake cleaner), petrol, etc. My wife has a product from Lakeland called "sticky stuff remover" that shifts anything! Heaven knows what's in that!

Note 2 added 11th Feb'21: Do not use Gorilla tape! It is the spawn of Satan! I entertained the Forum for a week with my Gorilla tape removal woes. The first problem was removing the tyre! Long story short: If you have used Gorilla tape and need to remove it, strip off the outer layer and remove the adhesive gunk with a rag soaked in petrol. Keep rubbing and suddenly it will come off! Do it outside!!!!

Have you figured out the tape width for Alexrims MD35? I am about to rebuild the wheel and need to order the correct tape with some another parts but I am too lazy to remove the rim and the tire and assemble everything back just to measure the tape width.

Gorilla tape here too. The nice thing about gorilla tape is you can make it work at any width as it rips linear! I just start a small rip that fits my rim and keep wrapping/ripping. I know some guys cut the roll but that can cause the tape to retain the cut next time you are in dire need for gorilla tape to save the day

Hi, I recently called Syntace to ask the same question regarding the All Mtn7 V30 and V35 wheels (which after asking why I could not find the specific rims on Syntace's website, I learned are specific, cheaper OEM rims for the group Haibike belongs, built in a different factory than the Syntace wheels you see on Syntace's website).
Their reply was that they do most of their tubeless conversions with 23mm rim tape and anything between 23mm-25mm should be fine. They sounded more concerned about going too wide and then risking the tyre not sealing properly with the rim. I don't know however how the inner rim of Alex vs Syntace is.

OK, I have figured out the 27.5" Alexrims MD35 uses 34 mm wide tape.
