Restricted Practise???

As a result of attempting to retrofit a 2023 Bosch Smart System e-bike with the new Bosch Power More range extender it seems to me that both Bosch and the manufactures have set up a process of restrictive trade practises in respect to the software enabling of in built in functionality. The owner of an e-bike should not have the hassle and expense of taking their bike to a dealer to software enable, for example, power to be supplied to retrofitted lights on a mountain bike or even worse, in some cases, the dealer needing to request and obtain permission to do so and a new configuration from the e-bike manufacture. If the manufactures chose not to enable the functionality of light or auxillary power sockets because it is not required for the configuration of the bike as sold no problem but the customer of that bike should be able to activate such features if needed for additional hardware, themselves, they have paid for them!
In the case of the Power More range extender and I guess similar retrofit hardware present and future, I do not believe it is the right of either Bosch or an e-bike manufacturer to restrict its use on hardware with the capability (Smart System). It may well be that the water bottle cage fixings are not strong enough on some e-bikes to support the additional weight of the Power More battery (not the case for me) and I have no problem with Bosch and/or the e-bike manufacture issuing a warning on that but they do NOT have, I believe, the right to stop me taking a risk with the bottle fixing or using an alternate more secure fixing method. I would point out to Bosch and the manufactures that the owner of an e-bike can freely change, add or remove any number of different components, including tyres, wheels and brakes any of which might risk voiding the warranty or liability of the manufacturer, why should it be different for components of the electrical system????
Bosch you are not our nanny!
I would be very interested to know from other members here if other manufactures e.g. Shinano and Yahaha etc. handle this differently.
