Recommendations Riding Gear

Looking for some recommendations for riding gear , up to now I’ve been shorts or joggers , trainers and a north face rain jacket thing if needed and I need a helmet as well . Could do with recommendations for probably more wet and winter riding well we are coming into the winter.
Any recommendations very much appreciated even links if you know a good deal .

The most difficult choice for me at the moment is the change from shorts to pants/trousers. I have some Altura trousers which I really like but the same model appears not to be in production now.....and I am looking for a second pair of trousers for those occasions when my Alturas need washing/reproofing.
So many of the popular brands now seem to focus on "race" pants.........thin stretcheable materials and basically look like spray on jeans!! Not my cup of tea. I only change from shorts to trousers for warmth and still need them to accomodate armour shorts and kneepads........and I dont want to have to take them off to put the knee pads on or take them off!! Some of the MX pants/trousers are far better value but most are designed to be worn with MX boots so end up too short in the leg..........and being made "pre-bent" often look like you have sh** in your pants
