Hi, looking for some help please? I have just got a trek rail 9.8XT and find my current Thule bike rack doesn't really grip the bike as I would like. Currently I use the Thule arms to lightly grip the top tube, but I'm nervous with this method. The Thule grips are more suited to round top tubes. Anyone any suggestions on an alternative bike rack, preferably one that holds the wheels only, and suited for carbon frame. UK/Ireland based.

Currently using one of these, holds 2 bikes, up to 27.5kgs each, also has a built in locks and even a bottle opener for that after ride brew. Folds up neatly and does the job much better than some of the racks my mates use. Gets a thumbs up from me

The model number on their Australian website is 8002443. I didn't say but at least 3 of my mates all have this rack too and all agree, it's simple, strong and all round pretty bullet proof. Hope this helps and you can find one in Northern Ireland

Saris Superclamp EX 2 Bike Hitch Mounted Car Rack - just seen one of these if your still looking and can get them in the UK according to ebay

I would second this. It's really well priced and a great rack for ebikes. Has the bonus of being able to carry fendered bikes if that's a need.

I have a Kuat Piston X and it’s great. Easy to configure for different bikes, plenty of space, holds 60-70 lb bikes. It’s not the lowest cost option but it has plenty of features that justify the price tag…

KUAT NV 2.0 is what I have for my RAIL and the wife's Assisted townie style bike, both bikes re over 50 LB and you need a solidly built rack. One of my cable locks got left out and dragging and got ground up. I called Kuat to buy a new one and they sent it to me free 2 day service

I believe the Kuat systems are also expandable to 3 and 4 bikes. The Piston X is very cool, and has some premium features like tail lights, which I prefer so I don’t get rear ended. The NV has other neat features, like a work stand accessory plus both racks have ebike ramps to help with loading and unloading.

But! They’re pricey. (I already own one, so I’m not trying to justify my purchase but sharing how cool I think the Kuats are!)

I’m sure you can’t go wrong with any that support ebikes. 2” receiver is ideal.
